the female suspect stated for police records:
“heard Egyptian rock n roll. All that was left
was a Nagasaki shadow on the bed sheet;
an outline touched by pyramids”
late night black and white
tell me about the profane experiments
that were conducted clandestinely
while drifting towards dawn
it was all about love not defined
until one biting wound over the limit
birthed slow red blossoms on a white tile floor
cruising coitus on the venous ocean
underground eyes reaching outwards
towards the sinning sun
love mixture teeth marks
as a skin from the sea-creature
was drawn tight and clothed the night air
a humid suffocation wrapped
i started to take myself apart
it was tiny dissections viewed in mirrors
amidst female shrieks in ultra-low volume
confessions unnecessary she says
we watched. and admitted to ourselves. it’s
hard to think without captives.
a scene of black hair big
flowing as it ignites a gold lamé bikini
she walks slowly on the beach as she spews
gunpowder from pouty lips
tarnished gold bracelets dangle on her wrists
slight chimes amidst low feminine shrieks
i became that creature that i had once feared
she said “but now it’s embraced.”
proving torture by way of paintings
we were both enshrined in see-thru polyvinyl
buried up to our necks in the sand
embalmed pallid forms burnt by the moon’s fluids
while assassins and scorpions slept nearby
Peter’s earliest recollection of the writing process is, as a 1st grader, constructing a children’s book with illustrations. The only memory he has of this project is a page that contained a crayon drawing of an airplane, caught in a storm. The caption read: “The people are on a plane. It is going to crash. They are very scared.” His parents were always disturbed by that 1st book and particularly by his love for writing.
His poems explore alienation, addiction, love, the havoc that secrets can wreak and obsessions. He has been published in many online and print publications, including Literary Orphans, Danse Macabre, Maintenant 4 & 5, Caper Literary Journal, and Why Vandalism?, as well as an interview in Yes, Poetry. A record of his published work may be found at http://www.angelferox.com. Peter’s e-chapbook, Sins of the Go-Go Girls is published by Why Vandalism? Press and is available as a free download at:
